Window Visor – Nice Ventilator for Automobiles

What are automotive window visors? Next time when you take a look at a car, notice its door window, you may find a curving thin plastic slice attached along to the top edge of the window. This slice usually approximates 10cm in width and extends outward. They are what we call window visors.

These items are designed for the purpose of shielding and deflecting rain, moisture, dust, snow and noise from entering the car. On poor weather condition like rainy days, a car can still have its windows open partially thanks to its visors. As such, normal ventilation can be kept for the car. Similarly, they reflect strong sunshine so as to prevent the driver and passengers from hurt by harmful ultraviolet rays and dirty dust.

Besides, auto window visors are also nice exterior accessories. Added with a full set of this kind of auto parts, a car will have its appearance completed, which will look zoetic, sporty, dynamic, vigorous and energetic. So, if your car does not have its visors currently, go and find the suitable set and have it mounted on your car. Both practical and cosmetic effect will be created for you perfectly.

There is a vast selection of aftermarket window visors on automotive market. They come in different style, material and color. Many of these visors have paintable surface. That’s to say you can paint them into other colors you like to personalize your car. Keep in mind that the ones you choose will practically match your car’s brand, model and model year.

Dash Kits Installation – A Step-by-Step Guide

One great way to spruce up the interior of your vehicle is to enhance it with wood trim. You don’t need to have a luxury car to benefit from the visual appeal of wood trim added to your dash kit. These days vehicle owners are always looking for ways to add style and class to their cars and trucks.

Installing the wood trim to your car or truck is very easy. Not only is it easy, it is a great way to enhance the value of your vehicle. Following these few installation tips will provide you a fast easy way of performing your own wood trim dash kit installation.

Step 1. Check the fit and alignment.

You want to be sure the wood trim fits easily into your dash kit before completely installing it. Forcing the wood trim into the dash kit could result in breakage of your wood trim. Most companies that sell wood trim will not give you your money back because you botched the installation. If you try to return the broken piece of trim, the company will be able to tell if it broke due to a mistake in its manufacturing or in its installation.

You can easily check the fit of your wood trim in your dash kit by aligning the trim to the dash and gently applying pressure. When you do this you should feel a little give from the dash and the trim begins to sink in. If this happens then chances are your wood trim will fit into your dash kit. If your wood trim does fit the dash kit continue to step two.

Step 2. Clean surfaces completely.

You want to make sure your dash kit is nice and clean. Even the newest of vehicles will have dust and possibly a little grime. To remove this it is best to use alcohol pads. Alcohol pads will remove residue, especially residue from tape or glue, more efficiently than regular cleaners. Some over the counter cleaners will clean, but will leave a residue of their own. You can tell the difference in a clean dash kit from cleaners verses a clean from alcohol pads. The biggest difference is in the feel of the dash after the clean. You do not want any oily residue in the surface of your dash kit!

Step 3. Apply adhesive supplied with your wood trim to your dash kit.

Your wood trim kit will come with its own type of adhesive. Some will have tubes others will have pads. The important thing to remember in this step is to try not to get the adhesive on surfaces that will not be covered by your wood trim. Don’t make a mess!

Step 4. Apply wood trim to dash kit.

There are a couple different things you want to do when installing your wood trim to the dash kit. You need to separate your pieces into large pieces and small pieces.

For the large pieces carefully reposition wood trim in place. Carefully pull back top half and remove the liner from the back of the trim. Starting at the middle and working towards the top, carefully press trim into position. Gently lift lower portion and remove the rest of the liner backing. Starting from the middle and working down, carefully press trim into place.

Step 5. Final Step-Press the trim onto the dash kit.

You are now ready to press the wood trim kit onto the dash kits exterior. Do this to each piece contained in your kit. Once you are completed, you will have a classy look and feel for the interior of your vehicle!

How I Fixed the Weak Brakes on My Chrysler 300

Admittedly I am a lead-foot. And, my 300 is happy to comply with my speed demands. Chrysler got that part right. But when it comes time to halt the mass of my silver bullet, the brakes shutter a little and fade fast. This can be a little scary.

A few weeks ago I took a trip to the Sierras for a weekend fishing trip. On my return, dropping down from 9,000 feet, I was made painfully aware of just how under-engineered my stock brakes were. I came hauling around a corner to find a Ford truck going way too slow and I had to hit the brakes pretty hard. To my dismay, they barely had enough stopping power to keep me from destroying my beautiful front end. My stopping power had faded so much that, I swear, it was like trying to stop a train Fred Flintstone-style – with my feet. It was at that moment I decided to replace my stock brake rotors.

I have had this thought before but haven’t wanted to fork out the extra dough for better brake rotors. And, I wouldn’t trust myself to install them properly. This incident changed my mind and when I got back to sea-level I started my research.

The first thing I did was go to Google and searched for brakes but this proved too generic. Then I did a search for performance rotors and came across a couple decent looking websites. Turns out there is a huge market for aftermarket rotors, I guess I am not the only one with this need. I don’t really know any brands so I relied on the customer reviews. The two brands that stuck out as positive from a performance and price standpoint were EBC rotors and Power Slot rotors. I thought they would be a lot more expensive but a set of front rotors is actually pretty affordable.

I also learned about slotted rotors and how they help conduct heat away from the rotors which is one of the things that creates fade. But the other thing is that these performance rotors are also larger in diameter then stock rotors so they have more surface area. The EBC brand was pricier then the Power Slot brand, I think because they also have these dimples which I presume help to cool the rotors more efficiently. In the end, I figured that it wasn’t that big of a difference and purchased the cheaper Power Slot rotors.

The next think I needed to do was decide whether or not I would install them myself. The sales agent that sold me the rotors said it was pretty simple. But, I am a musician and don’t want to destroy my hands so I contacted my local auto mechanic and asked him how much he would charge to install them. He said it would take about two hours. I figured this was worth the piece of mind that comes with proper installation.

I got my rotors in like three days, took my beloved 300 to the mechanic and now I am driving and stopping in style.

Hot Wheels Modified

I wrote and article about two months ago on the popularity of Hot Wheels. I did it because I found some sites to feature on my hobbies page and I had not realized how popular the toys were to collect. Do not let the title of this article fool you, I am not modifying my previous article. Out of the approximately thirty articles I have written in the past months the article about Hot Wheels was my most popular. I decided to look more into this hobby.

Part of my research consisted of trying to contact some webmasters focusing on Hot Wheels. I spoke with the owner of http://www.z-mods.com. I tried to find out what it is about these toys that drew such a following. The owner’s name is Steve Zalimas. He has been playing with and collecting these cars since he was little. He does not recall what drew him to it. He did not even know other people collected them until the last ten years or so.

What Steve did share with me is the not only are the original Hot Wheels worth money but he makes most of his money off of his modified cars, hence the title of this article. Steve said he has been modifying these cars for a few years now. The modifications consist of things as simple as changing wheels to a more rare set of wheels, unique paint jobs, turning hard top cars into convertibles and more. No car he modifies is the same. He cannot remember all the different combinations he has done over the years but estimates they are in the dozens.

Steve also indicated that he has built a nice list of repeat customers over the years as well. “This is not a high production business by any means. You are working with very small cars and some of the detail work involved to produce a high quality car is time consuming and requires a lot of patience.” This was a quote offered by Steve in one of our e-mails back and forth. He also told me that he will even do a car based on a customer’s specifications on a rare occasion. Steve spends most of his time on the collecting of the cars because the rare cars are just not plentiful enough to supply his modification side of things. He did ask me to pass along a message, which I will gladly do because he gave me the courtesy of helping me in researching this article, that if you do not see a car on his site for sale to contact him. They sell off faster than he can produce them so he may be working on the exact modification you are looking for.

Steve does this as a hobby and for relaxation mostly. He is not in it for the money so he couldn’t give me an estimate on how much he has made over the years with his modifications. He said he doesn’t always sell them for money either, sometimes he will trade a modified car for a car he has been needing for his personal collection. It is obvious that this hobby is hotter than I ever expected.

Keep Your Teenagers Safe on Prom Night – Rent Them a Limo

Your kids will want to show up on prom night in the hottest transportation of all the kids in their class. Whether it’s the Chrysler 300 limo, Lincoln town car, luxurious sedan, or hummer limo, they did unquestionably appreciate the special treat. How do mom and dad benefit from the kids in a stretch limo? Think about your number one concern: your child. You can admit it, you have thought of locking your kid in a tower at one point or another for his or her own safety. Total security isn’t going to happen, but you shoot for the moon and you’ll land the little one in a limo. What does that mean? What exactly connects the towering castle, the orbiting lunar rock in the sky, your teenager and a luxury limo? Control: you did like total control, but you have probably already seen much of that control fly out the window and to the sky many times considering the fact that your former infant has grown. A potential comfort for you then, on prom night is that limousine service. This is among the most memorable days in the entire high school era. For some teens, this will be their first formal affair (at least without the parents.) They want it to be special. However that ideal might look in their mind, they will do everything in their power to fulfill their dreams.

This might be where your nerves stand on end. This also might be where you’re asking yourself how a limousine rental will prevent you from actually buying that chastity belt. Part of the potential benefit of the limos is the limo company. If you find a reputable and professional limousine company, hopefully their experience and responsibility will put you at ease. Keep in mind that the driver is not a high school student enjoying the time of his life, which translates into a more level headed style of driving when compared to the guy on a date. They, of course, can’t be responsible for everything the kids do, but that limo bus driver can alert the parents if somehow they wind up with a trunk full of underage drunken debauchery. Not to suggest your child would necessarily make such poor decisions, but how many students are in his graduating class? Based on your own experience and knowledge of your teen, you can give the driver strict instructions to avoid all parties and hotels or simply relax knowing it might as well be your caring hands holding the steering wheel. Maybe the chauffeur won’t have your loving heart, but at least there is an aspect of the grown up version of accountability within that classic limo.

A positive experience is all everyone is asking for. This is the night when the teen gets to dress up to the nines and look at themselves in the mirror looking more charming than ever before. Unless, we are talking about the kid in the duct tape suit, but he gets his own fun. This exclusive and mostly-classy night won’t even need to be expensive. How do we ensure that everyone is safe in the context of reality? You can shop around a bit for limo prices that work with your budget. If you end up hiring the cheap limo, you can still reap the benefits of peace of mind. You might want to know that most high school students don’t really distinguish between limousine companies. To them a limo company is a limo company is a cheap limo service! The limo rates you pay are not the focus here. This night is all about fun and safety. You can help create that environment even with that discount limo service. The great news in this game is that everyone can win. No, you don’t get to lock the kid in a tower, but you can ask your driver to alert you to any potential problems (or deviations from the responsible fun we all plan.)

As the parent, you have the brilliant opportunity to be the superhero (for once.) You find the limo rate that looks good to you, (secretly making sure that the driver is a responsible adult while adhering to those limo quotes,) and you pull through for your happy, nervous, self-conscious teenage adult. Then off into the moon lit night, they ride only to line up with all the other cheap limos at the Olive Garden or Red Robin. All the cute couples are happy, the waiters are happy (because you have taught your teen about tipping properly,) the drivers are happy (because some of the kids leave their leftovers in the back, plus you have taught your teen about tipping properly,) the cheap limo services are in business and the world turns yet another day. Granted, there is still no cure for the syndrome known as parent worry. Grandmothers across the nation will attest to the fact that there is, quite frankly, no hope in sight. So, tragically, you are going to have to resort to the super low tech solution of hyperventilating into the brown paper bag. You made your parents do it, but rest easy your kids are probably not getting into the amount of trouble you did.

Classic Car Found

It is always a celebration whenever a classic car is discovered, but when it turns out to be an uncommon car too, the news is brought into the attention of classic car collectors and enthusiasts. One of those moments was the rediscover of a Bugatti with chassis number 57502, an uncommon French sports coupe manufactured in 1937. The classic car found in a barn in Newcastle, England, after over 48 years of being parked in a garage, is one of the only 17 cars of that type ever built.

In 1937 the car was bought by Earl Howe who, after owning it for eight years, sold it to a different person. The automobile continued to change owners until 1955 when it has been sold to Harold Carr, the owner that kept it in the garage for 48 years, after driving it just for a few years. This classic car was found in England after the death of Harold Carr and was sold at a bidding in 2009 by the Bonhams house of auction. Due to its rarity, original condition and low mileage, the vehicle was likely to be sold for approximately £6 million. But in reality the car’s price tag was of £2,989,495.

2010 was another year when other beautiful, rare classic cars were discovered. I’m talking about an uncommon Chrysler 300 found in Berkley, surrounded by cleaning equipment and covered inside by dust. But you could not help noticing its intact red, white and blue “300-D” emblem that proved the car was an authentic, a well-preserved 1959 300-E hardtop. In fact, a couple of Chrysler cars were discovered there: a 1958 and a 1959 models.

These Chrysler cars are gorgeous cars, produced by the manufacturer between 1955 and 1965 and highly appreciated by car collectors all over the world. And that’s normal, due to the exceptional style and the luxurious interiors covered in leather. Their popularity can also be caused by the low number of units produced. The vehicle found is one of the 22 top cars produced by the manufacturer with Bendix fuel injection. The fuel injection system turned out to have some problems and all the 22 manufactured cars were recalled and equipped with four-barrel carburetors and sent back to their owners. Nowadays, just a few of these cars continue to exist and be a part of the automotive history. Moreover, the new owner chose to restore it in order to show the respect it deserves.

Incredible or not, another classic car found recently is a 1925 Bugatti Type 22 that was discovered at the bottom of a Swiss lake, full of rust. Despite its condition, the automobile was sold for 260,500 Euros in Paris at the 2010 edition of the Retro Mobile classic car show. It wasn’t probably the most valuable car sold throughout the Bonhams auction, but its history is impressive. The money went to charity.

This Bugatti’s chassis number is 2461 and the engine number is 879. It is a car built in 1925 and originally bought by a France customer that lived in Nance and who sold it to some Parisian owner. Although only 20% from the original car was still in good condition, the car’s price tag was high. The iron and the steel have suffered more damage, but the wood, the aluminum, the brass and also the rubber were better preserved with the help of a restoring session. Let’s hope that another beauty will be saved!

Chrysler 300 Grills – Secrets to Buying Cheap

While the Chrysler 300 may not be the hottest vehicle on the market these days, it’s still one of the coolest looking rides when customized with a few aftermarket options. The most popular of these is still the aftermarket Chrysler 300 grill. When these grills were first introduced, you could expect to pay anywhere from $500 up to over $1000 for a high end billet grille. Since the popularity of the vehicle is slowed, the prices on aftermarket parts have dropped significantly, making it the best time for you to pimp you 300 ride if you haven’t already done so.

Online is going to be your best place to find low prices and the largest selection of grilles for your Chrysler. You can go extremely cheap and get a lower quality plastic chrome grill for less than $100 at many online retailers, or you can spend another hundred dollars and get a high quality billet aluminum grill which will really finish off the look of your Chrysler 300‘s front end. Manufacturers you should consider include MVP, Asanti, B-Cool and E&G. These brands all feature high quality craftsmanship that will give you the look you want at an affordable price.

You can still get the bling. If you really want to get a grille that shines like diamonds, you can still spend some serious cash and get a grille by Strut, but expect to pay well over $1000 for this high end accessory. If you’re a baller, this is the way to go, but the mere mortals who want to have a cool looking ride are better served with the lower end models.

Craigslist is another great place to find deals on aftermarket grilles and accessories. Many Chrysler 300 owners who have decided to sell their rides will restore it back to factory condition and sell their billet and chrome add on grilles for huge savings. Be sure to check the condition before you commit to buy, as these used grilles can take a beating from road wear and tear.

The customizing shop downtown. While this is a great place to go and look at the actual models available for your grille purchase, I don’t recommend actually purchasing your custom Chrysler grill from these brick & mortar shops. Many will have hiked up prices and you will end up paying more with tax than if you had ordered it online and had it shipped directly to your home. These places are usually great for having your new grille installed, but stick to the online purchase if you want to save some serious cash. Always make sure the shop you use for your grille installation is reputable and has a good Better Business Buerau rating. There’s lots of fly by night customizing shops out there, and you don’t want to deal with these guys.

This should give you a good guide on how to purchase a grill for your new or used Chrysler 300, and help you save some coin in the process. The most important thing is to get exactly what you want, a quality grille that will last and not cost too much. Do a little research and you’ll get exactly what you’ve been looking for and have the pimpest Chrysler 300 on the block.

How To Attract A New Car The Easy Way

Are you wondering if you will ever drive the car of your dreams?

Maybe you don’t have enough money to purchase the car you really want or perhaps the car that you are driving now is ready to be traded in.

Whichever the case, once you follow this simple visualization technique, you will be amazed at how quickly you will reprogram yourself to effortlessly attract a new car, and not just any car, but the one that you REALLY want.

In order for this technique to work, there are a few small preparation steps that you need to take.

If you want a new car, then you need to go to your local dealer and test drive it. Be sure to choose the car that is in the right color and has the exact benefits and that you desire. If possible, take pictures and even a video of it with you in it. While you are sitting in the drivers seat, get a picture of the dashboard with your hands on the wheel. Take as many pictures of the interior as you can from the angle of you in the drivers seat.

Also, pick up a brochure from your dealer that details that specific make, model of car. If you can’t get one at the dealer, hop on the manufacturers website, almost every automotive maker has a website and offers sales brochures for each model that they produce.

Alright, that’s the prep part. You’ve got your pictures/video and brochure.

Now all you need is a notebook and a pen and 30 days. Follow these steps each and every day for the next 30 days and you WILL be driving that car in no time.

1. Write down a Specific Statement demonstrating ownership and gratitude for your car. Something like this…”I am grateful for my Silver Chrysler 300 C with a Moonroof, leather, all wheel drive and Hemi engine.” Simply substitute your automobile specifics. But make sure that you begin the statement with a word of thanks.

2. Now, create a written paragraph that has statements of support … “I support myself driving a Chrysler 300 C.” “My family supports me driving a Silver Chrysler 300” “God (the universe) supports me in driving a Silver Chrysler 300C.” Reprogramming your thoughts towards permission or support from everyone else including yourself is imperative to manifesting any desired outcome.

3. Write a your story about how your life will be as you are driving your New Chrysler 300C. How will you feel, where will you go with your new car? Be specific and also refer to your pictures/video at this time. Include things like “the sun feels so good on me as I drive my Silver Chrylser 300C on warm days.” You story should be at least 3 paragraphs long. Over the period of the 30 days, you should see your story evolve into a very specific account of what it will be like as your are driving this car. You will be amazed at how much longer the story gets each and every day as you reprogram your thoughts and subconscious to attract this car.

4. Finish each days writing with a paragraph of Gratitude. “thank you God for my new Chrysler 300c.” “I am so thankful for my ride to work in my new Chrysler 300 C.” and so on.

If you follow these simple steps you will be amazed at how quickly that new car will manifest into your left. A word of caution, you must do this with fail for 30 days because that is about how long it takes to reprogram your thoughts and attract a new car quickly. It’s simple, make the commitment to do this starting today.

Optimize Your Sweet Spot

Most types of sports equipment like a golf club, a tennis racquet or a baseball bat have a certain spot that, if the ball hits it, will give the player the optimal result. Hitting this sweet spot yields a long drive down the fairway, a swift crosscourt return or home run swing. Every sport has a sweet spot of some type. If you have experienced it, you know when you hit the sweet spot, you barely feel it. The ball goes where you want it to go – even further and faster. Doesn’t get any better than that!

But what about the sport of leadership? Aren’t we professional athletes in our own right?

Those in professional sports practice 90+ percent of the time and actually “play for keeps” less than 10 percent of the time. As professional leaders, we are almost always “playing for keeps.” So it’s particularly important that we take time to plan and ensure that we are optimizing our sweet spot.

Did you know the average person possesses between 500 and 700 different skills and abilities? A common defining moment for people is finding that skill or ability that’s right in their sweet spot. As leaders, we have a huge opportunity to help our employees find their sweet spots, too.

The first step is ensuring a good fit between an employee’s natural abilities and interests and the requirements of the job. This would ensure the “highest and best use” of their talents toward the realization of our high-definition vision. Wouldn’t we just love having every single team member working in their sweet spot? We would always be in “the zone” and work would feel like play.

Our ability to match sweet spots to job requirements is the best predictor of job success and, ultimately, of excellent performance. It all starts with a moment to plan for the use of talent on our team.

Let’s not forget about ourselves in this matching process. Gaining insights into our own sweet spot as leaders helps us better determine how to design roles and deploy the talent on our team. For example, if my sweet spot is conceptually designing complex deals, I better ensure I have a strong analyst on my team. If my sweet spot is analyzing lots of details and numbers, I want some conceptual, big picture thinkers on my team.

Want to know an easy way to find your sweet spot? Look at the intersection of these two questions:

1. What am I absolutely passionate about?

2. Which tasks are very easy and natural for me to perform?

Most of us vividly remember the moment we found our professional sweet spot. Others told us we made it look easy, that we really excelled and we looked like we were having a ball. Think of the last time when others made these comments to you. What were you doing? Like finding any sweet spot, it’s worth hitting these questions around for awhile and practicing our answers before we can serve up a winner.

Ralph V. Gilles understands this process. He dropped out of college and was spending most of his time, by his own admission, slacking in his parents’ basement, eating granola, watching “Dukes of Hazard” reruns and lamenting the sorry state of automobiles being made in America.

Growing up, Gilles was typical of most boys who played with Hot Wheels and Formula 1 model cars. But, as a teenager, he also was extremely talented in sketching vehicles. In fact, his aunt wrote a letter to then Chrysler Chairman Lee Iacocca, saying he should hire her 14-year-old nephew.

A Chrysler executive responded, recommending three design schools. Soon afterward, however, the letter was lost and forgotten. Meanwhile, the car-crazy Gilles completed high school and enrolled in college to study engineering, but dropped out quickly. His reason: “I was in a funk and was really not sure I wanted to be an engineer.”

As he continued his granola, “Dukes of Hazard” routine down in the basement, Ralph’s older brother, Max, recalled the letter from Chrysler. He remembered that one of the recommended schools was Detroit’s College for Creative Studies. Upset to see Ralph wasting his time and talent, Max pushed his brother to apply to the local school although the application deadline was only a week away and would require 10 sketches.

At that point, the whole family became involved, making Ralph coffee so he could complete his sketches, cheering him on and helping wherever they could. By the end of the week, Ralph was covered in pencil lead, but the sketches were complete, so his mother sent the packet to the school by overnight delivery.

Today, Ralph V. Gilles is recognized as the innovator of the Chrysler 300 sedan and the Dodge Magnum Wagon I in addition to being responsible for the 2002 Jeep Liberty, 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 and several concept cars. Dubbed as the Chrysler Group’s newest darling, Gilles has earned numerous national and international accolades. He has since been promoted to Design Director for Chrysler.

If we consistently misidentify sweet spots, we will find our team stuck in a funk, like Gilles.

If we correctly match employee’s sweet spots to the job requirements, we will all be living the sweet life!

Today’s fast-paced, efficiency-minded organizations make it especially challenging for leaders to always ensure a good fit. It’s common to find employees picking up the slack for positions that have been eliminated. If personnel reductions aren’t executed carefully, the remaining employees can find themselves underemployed and consumed by “leftover” tasks that drain their time but don’t tap their minds.

These situations start a cycle of “lowest and worst use” of talent, resulting in a downward spiral of self-doubt, anxiety and frustration. If you’ve ever experienced this, you know it feels more like a sour patch than a sweet spot.

To prevent this cycle and the resulting decline in team performance, we can plan the work for our teams to optimize sweet spots by:

- Combining tasks that require similar skill levels, so we can more easily match an employee’s sweet spot with the position’s requirements.

- Automating repetitive tasks.

- Streamlining inefficient processes and eliminate redundant tasks that rob us from getting the highest and best use of our talent.

- Outsourcing tasks that require a high level of people power but have little impact on our organizations. Stay within our own sweet spots and let other vendors use their sweet spot to serve us.

Take a moment to optimize the sweet spots on your team – including your own. It’s a defining moment for most people when they can arrive at work on Monday morning and say, “How sweet it is!”
